Description

We are seeking a Data Architect to develop data strategies and target architectures for complex, regulated organisations. The successful candidate will model, harmonise, and standardise data across various systems and domains, and transform classical data warehouse, data lake, and data lakehouse architectures into domain-oriented data mesh architectures.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop data strategies and target architectures for complex, regulated organisations
  • Model, harmonise, and standardise data across various systems and domains
  • Transform classical data warehouse, data lake, and data lakehouse architectures into domain-oriented data mesh architectures
  • Set up data governance and data management structures, including roles, responsibilities, and data quality requirements
  • Plan and accompany data migrations, including data mapping, transformation, and quality assurance
  • Translate business requirements into consistent data models and technical architecture specifications

Requirements:

  • Very good relevant and successful degree
  • Several years of relevant professional experience in consulting for data architectures, ideally in the energy sector, public sector, defence sector, or financial sector/insurance
  • Several years of experience as a Data Architect or Engineer in distributed systems and streaming frameworks, as well as ETL/ELT processes
  • Experience in modelling conceptual, logical, and physical data models and creating data catalogues
  • Experience in designing, evaluating, and transforming data architectures, as well as knowledge of common frameworks and design patterns
  • Sound knowledge of data mesh principles such as domain ownership, data products, federated governance, self-service data platforms, and data-driven collaboration between departments and IT
  • In-depth knowledge of relational (SQL) and non-relational database systems (NoSQL such as MongoDB or Cassandra)
  • Experience with DBT tools and platform solutions such as Databricks, BigQuery, Snowflake, Microsoft Azure Synapse/Fabrics
  • Relevant certifications such as DAMA CDMP, TOGAF, and cloud certifications for Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud
  • Structured, professional, and strongly customer-oriented working style, as well as high self-initiative
  • Team ability, as well as very good communication and presentation skills
  • Openness and motivation for active idea development and entrepreneurial co-creation
