Description
As a Business Supply Chain (BSC) Engineer at 3M, you will collaborate with innovative people around the world to make an impact by maintaining awareness of customer needs and industry trends, supporting new product launches, and driving process improvements using Lean, Six Sigma, and Value Stream tools.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain awareness of customer needs and industry trends and translate those into measurable specifications and test methods for product development and manufacturing.
- Support successful NPI scale-up and launch of new products with capacity, capability, and cost.
- Use Lean, Six Sigma, and Value Stream tools to drive improvements.
- Perform capability assessments and cost estimates for new opportunities.
- Drive process development and recommend new equipment and modifications to support cost improvements and new product introductions.
- Provide manufacturing technical support for local and global manufacturing of business products.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in a science or engineering discipline.
- Three years of combined experience in manufacturing, product or process development.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Technical experience in polymer film extrusion, web handling, microreplication, clean coating, lamination, slitting, rotary die converting, and/or punch press converting.
- Six Sigma Green Belt Certification.
- Experience utilizing statistical tools in problem-solving.
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience on New Product Development and Commercialization Teams.
- Experience working with or manufacturing products designed for the Health Care field.

Work Location: Maplewood, MN (with some remote work flexibility, but requiring travel to 3M Center, MN at least 4 days per week). Travel: Up to 25% domestic/international. Relocation Assistance: May be authorized.
