Description
We are seeking a Principal CAD Technician - OHL to join our team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for creating detailed engineering drawings for Overhead line routing layout, wire clearance diagrams, scaffold clearance check drawings, Downlead arrangement for towers, georeferenced layout and set drawings.
Key responsibilities include:
- Creating detailed engineering profile drawings for overhead line routing
- Preparation of GA drawing for Transmission line Towers
- Detailing of Tower such as BOQ preparation, SLD, material take off qty
- Review of Tower General arrangement drawings & Outline diagram
- Facilitating coordination of design activities across various departments
- Assisting with preparing drawings and revising existing engineering drawings
- Managing OHL team members and providing guidance to junior team members
- Adhering to company and client drafting standards and procedures
- Collaborating with WSP UK office on design activities
- Providing guidance and mentorship to less experienced team members
- Developing and enhancing processes, tools, and potentially implementing new technologies into the design process
- Periodic Quality checks to be conducted for other engineers & designers
- Exhibiting ingenuity, foresight, and wise decision-making skills in proactively identifying and resolving challenges
- Contributing to the progress and growth of departmental tools and workflows
- Engaging in training sessions and meetings dedicated to addressing targeted organizational initiatives.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Knowledge of PLS CAD & PLS Tower
- Experience in creating detailed engineering drawings for Extra High Voltage (EHV) projects
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Strong attention to detail and quality focus.
