Description
We are seeking an Assistant CAD Technician - Roads to join our team in India.
The successful candidate will create detailed engineering drawings for Extra High Voltage (EHV) projects, including Air Insulated Substations (AIS) and Gas Insulated Substations (GIS).
Key responsibilities:
- Prepare and develop EC&I deliverables such as Single Line Diagrams, loop drawings, and cable block diagrams
- Create drawings to support detailed engineering, including Land Utilisation Plans and Elevations
- Collaborate with various departments, including Civil/Structural, Networks, and Transmission Line
- Assist in preparing and revising existing engineering drawings
- Adhere to company and client drafting standards and procedures
- Coordinate with team members and monitor project schedules
- Maintain compliance with CDM Regulations and other legal requirements
- Collaborate with the WSP UK office on design activities
- Develop and enhance processes, tools, and technologies
- Conduct periodic quality checks for other engineers and designers
Requirements:
- Diploma in Engineering or an equivalent technical discipline
- Experience working with 2D and 3D software packages
- Familiarity with UK projects and experience working on National Grid Electricity Transmission projects is an added advantage
- Experience in Onshore wind, Offshore wind, Renewable (solar), and BESS projects is preferred
- Familiarity with 3D tools (Revit) for Engineering design is desirable
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Basic knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office programs
