Following the sale of Omnicare by CVS Health, this role will support Omnicare and its continued operations as an independent, standalone organization.

The Clinical Intervention Center (CIC) supports pharmacy operations by creating efficiencies in the dispensing function while focusing on relevant clinical care for patients and optimizing customer satisfaction through positive outcomes.

  • Managing rejected clinical claims by requesting to prescribers a “covered” alternative to a drug product that has been denied for reimbursement by a third-party prescription plan.
  • Initiating Prior Authorizations or Medical Exceptions based upon information from the patient's medical records when required by the payer.
  • Delivering Medication Therapy Management (MTM) services by licensed pharmacists to optimize safe and effective medication use.
  • Generating Patient Specific Therapeutic Interchange requests for prescribers for cost savings or a clinically superior drug.
  • Implementing Facility Formulary preferences for prospective medication changes on dispensing.
  • Coordinating specific National Account or multi-chain customer requests.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors of Science in Pharmacy or higher
  • Current license to practice pharmacy in good standing in the state you reside in

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledgeable about long-term care regulations (OBRA, OSHA, state laws and other federal laws) that have an impact upon both pharmacy and Center operations.
