Description
Grafana Labs is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Revenue Accounting Manager to join the Finance Team. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant revenue recognition, driving month-end close excellence, strengthening internal controls, and partnering cross-functionally across various teams.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure proper application of ASC 606 to customer contracts
- Review non-standard contract terms and prepare technical accounting analyses and documentation
- Identify and implement opportunities to use automation, AI, and other tools to streamline revenue processes
- Perform and review monthly accounting close activities and deliverables for revenue
- Translate ASC 606 conclusions into system configuration and manage revenue automation
- Execute and continuously improve month-end close accuracy and timeliness
- Support the financial reporting process by preparing quality and audit-ready supporting schedules
- Collaborate with Sales, Legal, DealOps, and Billing to evaluate deal structures and resolve revenue-impacting terms
- Assist with assessing the revenue implications of new products, pricing changes, and go-to-market models
- Design, maintain, and test SOX-compliant internal controls over revenue
- Be a key partner for external auditors, providing audit-ready documentation and support
- Use SQL, Python, or advanced Excel to analyze large data sets and surface trends
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred
- 6+ years of progressive revenue accounting experience in a Big 4 accounting firm and/or SaaS/technology company
- Deep knowledge of ASC 606, including usage-based or consumption-based revenue models and contract modifications
- Experience with revenue automation tools and ERP/CRM systems
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a track record of implementing process improvements
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Compensation & Rewards:
- Base compensation range: $120,000 - $145,000
- Restricted Stock Units (RSUs) included
