Description
WSP is seeking a Full-Time Assistant Superintendent/Inspector for its client's Syracuse, NY Field Office, with other locations in Albany and Cortland.
The successful candidate will be involved in projects with the Construction Management Team, ensuring that client objectives are met and challenges are solved.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing construction management inspection for multi-trade contracts to ensure conformity with contract requirements
- Monitoring work and materials to ensure quality control standards are met
- Coordinating with the Regional Code Officer
- Making timely decisions to keep projects on schedule and within budget
- Performing inspections, preparing construction reports, and expediting contract execution
- Supervising inspectors and maintaining a daily log of project progress
- Identifying and resolving problems, conducting meetings, and communicating with team members
- Monitoring contractor safety operations and coordinating with the Regional Safety Manager as needed
- Travelling occasionally, if required
The ideal candidate will have:
- A high school diploma
- At least 5 years of experience in construction involving multiple phases of large-scale building/rehabilitation projects, including supervision
- Ability to develop and communicate a project work plan, monitor manpower and performance, and compare design drawings
- Strong communications and interpersonal skills
- Leadership skills and ability to work collaboratively with clients and contractors
- OSHA-30 certification
- A proven track record of upholding workplace safety
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including occasional travel

The expected salary range for this position is $29.24 - $41.80.
