Description
We’re Workday, a Fortune 500 company and a leading AI platform for managing people, money, and agents. We're shaping the future of work so teams can reach their potential and focus on what matters most.
About the Team Workday's AI Platform builds the system of record for AI agents: the registry where Workday and partner agents are described, owned, versioned and managed.
About the Role As Senior Manager of Agent Trust & Security, you will lead an engineering team building the security foundations of Workday's agent registry: how agents are identified, how they connect to Workday's security model, and how customers can verify what they're running. This is a hands-on technical leadership role. You review designs and code, you build with AI code generation every day, and you bring product judgment to what the team builds.
In this role, you will:
- Lead, hire and grow a team of software engineers, including senior and principal engineers, and set a high bar for security engineering, design quality and pace.
- Shape how agents are identified, authenticated and authorized across the registry, building on Workday's security model and standards such as OAuth.
- Work with the Agent Passport team on agent identity, credentials and verification, so customers can trust which agent is running and what has been verified about it.
- Bring product judgment: understand how customer administrators and security teams think about agents, and work with product management to decide what the team builds.
- Partner with peer teams across the agent registry, agent gateway and Agent Passport, and with Workday security, so that security works consistently across the platform.
- Make AI code generation central to how the team builds, and measure whether it is improving speed and quality.
- Turn direction into written plans with dated milestones, and raise risks early.
Basic Qualifications:
- 10+ years of software engineering experience, including 5+ years leading and developing engineering teams that shipped and operated production services.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with security-critical systems such as authentication, authorization, identity, or security platforms.
Other Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline; equivalent practical experience also considered.
- Strong, current hands-on use of AI code generation tools, and experience leading a team that builds with them.
- Working knowledge of OAuth, workload and service identity, and access control models. Experience with signed credentials, attestation or verifiable credentials is a plus.
- Product sense: experience working directly with customers, or as a technical lead who shaped a security or identity product alongside product management.
- Experience with AI agent platforms or protocols such as MCP or A2A, or with LLM applications in production.
- Track record of predictable delivery across teams with shared dependencies.
- Track record of hiring and developing senior and principal engineers, including a team split across locations.
- Experience with multi-tenant enterprise SaaS. Workday platform experience is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain a security design to engineers, customers and executives.
