Description
As a Senior Manager, Vertical Risk Manager: DaaS (Decisioning as a Service) at Capital One, you will play a critical role in supporting Decisioning as a Service (DaaS), providing risk framework guidance across product, platforms, and ensuring well-managed execution of processes.
You will act as the first line of defense, leading, advising, and innovating on top transformational initiatives while partnering with business leaders to identify and mitigate potential risks to Capital One.
Responsibilities:
- Work with business teams and stakeholders to develop well-designed products, processes, marketing, and supporting technologies, implementing risk management practices and supporting risk/return trade-off decisions.
- Lead risk framework discussions and drive creative solutions to improve the risk profile.
- Participate in risk forums and business reporting routines, contributing to continuous improvement of risk management practices.
- Lead ad-hoc projects to improve processes or control environment to mitigate risks.
- Synthesize data and reporting, perform analysis, and bring valuable proactive business insights.
- Drive and deliver results and improvements in line with the business' well-managed and risk agendas.
- Stay abreast of the changing regulatory environment and understand the impacts on the business areas you support.
- Collaborate effectively across multiple levels and organizations.
- Support, partner, and interact with internal business clients.
- Build relationships and collaborate with key stakeholders, driving cross-functional opportunities.
- Set direction, manage expectations, and lead cross-functional teams.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree or Military experience.
- At least 5 years of experience working in risk management or financial services.
- At least 4 years of program management experience.
- At least 4 years of experience supporting, partnering, and interacting with internal business clients.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's Degree.
- 6+ years of Project Management experience leading cross-functional projects and programs in Risk.
- 6+ years of program management experience leading cross-functional risk programs.
- 6+ years of financial services risk management experience.
- 3+ years of experience in Agile or design thinking.
- 4+ years of Compliance, Legal, Audit, or first or second-line Risk Management experience.
- 3+ years of experience in reporting and analyzing data.
- Certified Risk Management Assurance (CRMA) or Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM).
- PMP, Lean, Agile, or Six Sigma certification.
Salary Information:
- McLean, VA: $177,700 - $202,800 for Sr. Risk Manager.
- Richmond, VA: $161,500 - $184,300 for Sr. Risk Manager.
