Description
Haiti is facing a severe humanitarian crisis, marked by armed violence, repeated displacements, and disruptions to essential services. The Artibonite department is particularly affected by armed group violence, leading to displacement and restricted humanitarian access. Internally displaced persons (IDPs) and host communities are exposed to increased risks of exploitation, abuse, gender-based violence, and neglect, while access to protection services remains limited.
Under the overall supervision of the Protection Coordinator and direct supervision of the Protection Officer (P2), the consultant will support the implementation, monitoring, and reporting of IOM's protection activities in the Artibonite department.

- Participate in protection needs assessments and monitoring in IDP sites and host communities.
- Identify individuals with specific protection needs (GBV survivors, victims of trafficking, unaccompanied or separated children, people with disabilities, elderly, etc.).
- Refer IDPs to appropriate structures and partners and follow up on referrals.
- Support direct assistance to vulnerable individuals (hygiene and dignity kits, temporary shelter), ensuring inclusion of those with specific vulnerabilities.
- Provide support to the cash-based intervention (CBI) team, including verification and follow-up visits to households, reporting protection cases, and contributing to CBI activity reports.
- Support monitoring of partner activities: progress against work plans, data collection and verification, and reporting.
- Facilitate liaison with community focal points, local authorities, and service providers.
- Participate in organizing awareness sessions for beneficiaries and community actors.
- Maintain the protection database, in accordance with protection principles.
- Prepare weekly activity reports and contribute to monthly reports.
- Perform other tasks as assigned within the scope of this consultancy.
