Description
We are seeking a Principal Engineer - Facade to provide technical leadership and expert guidance on building envelope design, construction methodology, materials selection, and performance requirements.
You will lead, mentor, and develop façade engineers, graduates, and technicians, while managing team resources, workload allocation, and project assignments.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing technical expertise on façade design and construction
- Leading and mentoring a team of engineers and technicians
- Managing project resources and workload
- Preparing and reviewing design reports, fee proposals, and project plans
- Collaborating with architects, engineers, and contractors
- Conducting research on potential cladding materials
Requirements:
- 12-15 years of work experience
- Recognised degree in a built environment discipline (e.g., Façade Engineering, Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Architecture)
- Chartered Engineer status (CEng) or working towards chartership
- Proven experience in façade design/engineering or a related field
- Strong technical and design skills related to building envelope design and detailing
- Excellent communication and project management skills
- Proficiency in 2D/3D CAD design software (e.g., Revit, Rhino, Grasshopper)
- Familiarity with analysis software tools (e.g., Strand7, ANSYS, Solid Works)
