Description
We are seeking a Senior Engineer - Electrical (Substation) to join our Energy Business line team. As a senior engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing efficient and reliable electrical substations, transmission lines, and collection systems for various projects, including renewable energy, underground energy storage, and transmission and distribution substation and overhead lines projects.
The successful candidate will work within a multi-discipline team to deliver high-quality designs, coordinate design activities to meet project schedules, and ensure successful project completion. Additionally, you will assist the pursuits team in preparing estimates and project proposals, and provide design activities in accordance with all applicable codes and standards, including WSP's policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Perform and oversee electrical power systems studies using ETAP, SKM, PSS/E, ASPEN, and other software programs as necessary.
- Deliver accurate and thorough designs that meet industry standards and specifications, and ensure good engineering practice with excellent constructability.
- Review internal and external designs for code compliance, good design practice, and constructability.
- Resolve site queries during the construction phase of projects.
- Maintain complete project documentation with respect to substation design and construction.
- Coordinate design activities with multi-disciplined project team members.
- Mentor and provide guidance to developing engineers within the department.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Experience in electrical design, single line diagrams, switchgear, design engineering, and detail engineering.
