Digital Business Analyst

Description

We are looking for an experienced Digital Business Analyst to join Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust (CNWL) Digital and support the delivery of major transformation programmes across the Trust.

Working collaboratively with colleagues across CNWL Digital, clinical and corporate services, Business and Transformation (B&T), and Business Intelligence (BI), you will help services understand complex problems, identify opportunities for improvement, and translate user, service and organisational needs into clear, evidence-based requirements.

This is a varied and influential role spanning discovery, service redesign, process improvement, requirements development, implementation and optimisation. The focus is on digitally enabled transformation--using technology, data and information to support meaningful improvements in services, pathways and ways of working, rather than delivering technology in isolation.

Main duties of the job

  • Lead discovery and business analysis activities from early problem definition through to implementation and optimisation.
  • Facilitate workshops, interviews, process-mapping and stakeholder engagement.
  • Analyse patient, staff and information journeys and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop current and future-state processes, user journeys and service models.
  • Elicit, analyse, prioritise and manage business, user, functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Support options appraisal, business cases, benefits identification, testing and implementation.
  • Provide clear, evidence-based analysis and recommendations to programme teams and senior stakeholders.
  • Help ensure solutions remain aligned with service needs, user needs and agreed outcomes.

Job responsibilities

  • Planning and delivering proportionate business analysis activities across complex programmes.
  • Undertaking discovery, process analysis and service redesign.
  • Mapping current and future-state processes, pathways, user journeys and information flows.
  • Facilitating inclusive workshops and structured engagement with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Developing and maintaining clear, prioritised and traceable requirements.
  • Identifying risks, dependencies, constraints, assumptions and opportunities.
  • Supporting options appraisal, business cases, procurement and benefits realisation.
  • Working with service, clinical, application, data and technical colleagues throughout design and delivery.
  • Supporting testing, implementation, transition, hypercare and optimisation.
  • Producing clear analysis products, reports and recommendations for programme and governance forums.
  • Promoting consistent business analysis approaches and supporting the development of business analysis capability across CNWL Digital.

Person Specification

  • Advanced practical knowledge of business analysis methods, including discovery, process analysis, requirements elicitation and management, impact assessment and options appraisal.
  • Knowledge of how to design and facilitate effective workshops involving people with different roles, experiences and perspectives.
  • Knowledge of requirements management, including business and user needs, functional and non-functional requirements, prioritisation, acceptance criteria and traceability.
  • Understanding that digitally enabled transformation involves coordinated changes to people, processes, information, technology and ways of working.
  • Understanding of inclusive and user-centred approaches, including accessibility, equality and the involvement of patients, carers and staff in service transformation.
  • Able to analyse complex, incomplete or conflicting information and translate it into clear findings, options and recommendations.
