Description
We are seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our team in Georgia. As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant, you will be responsible for treating residents with noted disorders or deficits within Occupational Therapy scope of practice upon receiving physician order and completion of evaluation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Optimizing the functionality and skills of patients
- Objectively screening residents
- Completing all necessary documentation
- Collaborating with supervising OTR to develop programs appropriate to the needs of facility residents
- Attending all required meetings, including care planning, staff meetings, and family meetings
- Assisting the facility in meeting standards necessary to obtain state and federal certification
- Following facility infection control policies and procedures
- Performing other tasks as deemed appropriate for the role and assigned by the manager/supervisor
Requirements:
- Completion of a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant program
- State licensure
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to maintain professionalism in all situations
- Ability to clinically collaborate and accept feedback and direction from OTR
Physical demands of the job include:
- Push/pull up to 300lbs
- Standing, sitting, sustained squatting, repetitive stooping, trunk twisting, sustained kneeling, sustained and repetitive forward reaching, stair climbing, walking, grasping, fine motor, and lifting
Preferred qualifications:
- Prior senior living community experience
- Knowledge of PDPM and Medicaid Case Mix
