Description
We are seeking a Security Engineer (or Infrastructure Security Engineer) to fortify and scale our centralized compute, systems, and networking environments. Your work schedule is hybrid/flex. You will be required to be on site for several days per pay period. This is a hands-on role, and you need to have a background in on-premises datacenter deployments.
As a core member of a lean, agile team, you will take ownership of the full lifecycle of our infrastructure. From architecting secure cloud environments and writing Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) to implementing continuous delivery pipelines and driving incident response, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our security posture and business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Secure Architecture & Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC): Design, provision, and maintain robust, scalable, and secure cloud/compute deployments using modern IaC tools (e.g., Ansible).
- Network & Systems Security: Firewall deployments and management, switch config and compliance.
- DevSecOps & CI/CD Integration: Embed security best practices directly into our continuous delivery pipelines, automating vulnerability scanning, compliance checks, and threat modeling.
- Reliability & Resiliency: Maintain fault-tolerant, high-availability infrastructure that balances stringent security requirements with operational performance.
- Incident Response & Threat Mitigation: Incident triage, root cause analysis, and post-mortems while continuously refining our monitoring, logging, and detection engineering capabilities.
Ideal Qualifications
- Core Experience: Proven track record (typically 5+ years) in security engineering in datacenter on-premise deployments.
- Cloud & Virtualization Expertise: Understanding of modern cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure), virtualization, and centralized compute architectures.
- Networking Foundations: Strong grasp of secure networking protocols, VPC design, firewalls, zero-trust architecture, and VPN/tunneling technologies.
- Hardware Experience: You need experience with computers. This is not a cloud shop and you would need to be very familiar with servers, VM’s and workstation topology and management functions.
- Agile Mindset: Comfortable wearing multiple hats in a fast-paced, small-team environment where autonomy, accountability, and end-to-end ownership are valued.
- Education: Bachelor's degree and industry certifications are required.
Salary: The pay range for this role is $93,400 to $143,800 USD annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to United States of America candidates only). Pay varies by work location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

- Health insurance
