As a UAS Flight Operations Manager in Germany, you will build lean operational processes that let Helsing iterate fast without compromising safety and legal standards.
Responsibilities:
- Design and continuously improve flight safety processes that scale with operational tempo
- Own and maintain the German operations manual and LBA authorisation
- Act as primary point of contact with the LBA for authorisation matters, occurrence reporting, and audits
- Conduct site recces and pre-flight risk assessments
- Manage safety events locally
- Deliver internal training and maintain crew competency records
- Provide field oversight of flight operations
- Run the German compliance monitoring programme
Requirements:
- Experience building or re-engineering operational processes in a fast-scaling environment
- Flight safety expertise across complex, regulated environments
- Successful delivery of compliance or safety management projects
- Understanding of EASA Regulation (EU) 2019/947 and 2019/945
- Experience interacting with the LBA or an equivalent EASA national competent authority
Nice to have:
- Experience working within a defence, government or highly regulated aviation environment
- Familiarity with NATO frameworks
- Fluency in German and English
- Experience conducting safety investigations or occurrence reporting
- Experience in a start-up environment
