Description
WSP is seeking a Substation Senior Structural Engineer to join their East Energy team in Buffalo, NY. The successful candidate will work on projects with the Civil/Structural Team, leading other engineers, designers, and drafters, and performing all aspects of electrical substation structural design.
The role involves:
- Leading engineers, designers, and drafters
- Performing structural design for electrical substations, including foundations, structures, and control buildings
- Developing construction specifications, cost estimates, and project schedules
- Coordinating with multiple disciplines on design results
- Evaluating constructability of electrical substations
- Ensuring plans adhere to client and WSP standards
- Reviewing shop drawings and responding to RFIs
Requirements include:
- BSCE degree from an ABET-accredited college
- 5-7 years of relevant post-education experience in structural design
- Expertise in structural analysis, steel and concrete design, soil mechanics, and foundation design
- Advanced knowledge of building codes and standards (ASCE, ACI, AISC, IEEE, etc.)
- Successful completion of the NCEES Professional Engineering (PE) exam

The expected salary range is $112,000 - $140,000.
