Description
As one of our Installation Specialists based in our Customer Delivery Hub, you'll bring our distinctive John Lewis service to customers' doors and install products like furniture, kitchen appliances, sound systems, and TV sets as part of a 2-person delivery crew, driving a 7.5-tonne vehicle.
In addition to your contractual pay, you'll receive an Evening Premium of £3.25 per hour for work between 18:00 - 22:00 and a Night Premium of £4.25 per hour for work between 22:00 - 06:00.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide great customer service as an ambassador for the John Lewis brand
- Load up your lorry with daily deliveries, working with the warehouse team
- Show respect and courtesy for customers' homes and handle unexpected situations
- Install products efficiently and demonstrate how they work
- Keep up to date with new products and technologies
- Maintain a safe working environment
This role involves heavy lifting, and you'll spend a lot of time delivering large items like sofas, white goods, and furniture.
Essential skills and experience:
- Previous installation experience
- Manual C1 UK driving licence (with a maximum of 6 points)
- DCPC (Driver Certificate of Professional Competence) or Driver Qualification Card
- Tachograph Card
- Previous experience driving a 7.5-tonne vehicle
- Previous experience in a customer-facing role
- Great verbal communication skills
- Good understanding of technology
Desirable skills and experience:
- Installation and disconnection of white goods
- TV installation
- Assembly of flat packs
The role offers a salary of £31,500 - £42,500 per annum, with varied hours of full-time work (41 hours) across six days, Monday to Saturday.
