Howden Re is a global reinsurance broker and risk, capital & strategic advisor focused on innovation and superior analytics. The Howden Re decision support team (Modeling and Analytics) facilitates catastrophe reinsurance placements and is embedded within clients' operations.
As an Associate Catastrophe Risk Technical Specialist, you will work with the Analytics team to elevate analytical offerings through Python application development.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and deploy diverse Python-based applications
- Enhance service quality for clients
- Implement innovative solutions to boost operational efficiency
- Rapidly develop and deploy solutions in a fast-paced environment
- Articulate sophisticated solutions to stakeholders
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or advanced degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, Finance or similar
- Proven experience in Python application development
- Solid understanding of AI/ML methodologies
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Experience manipulating, cleaning, and analyzing data
- Effective communicator, both verbal and written
- Able to collaborate effectively across disciplines
- Experience in SQL, React.js, and FastAPI are a plus
The expected base salary for this role is $72,000.
