As a General Merchandise Expert, you will be responsible for creating an easy, inspiring, and friendly guest experience. Your main priorities will be to ensure that products are available and easy to shop, which involves replenishment, pricing, and maintaining the sales floor and backroom.
Typical responsibilities include:
- Delivering excellent guest service, greeting guests, and resolving issues promptly
- Executing daily tasks such as receiving products, restocking shelves, and organising the backroom
- Maintaining a safe and compliant workplace by reporting hazards and adhering to role-specific guidelines
- Supporting team efforts and assisting peers in other areas
- Adjusting to business and guest needs to deliver an easy and inspiring guest experience
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- A welcoming and helpful attitude towards guests and team members
- Ability to communicate effectively using multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners
- Capability to work independently and as part of a team
- Attention to detail and ability to follow multi-step processes
- Ability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment
In terms of physical demands, you should be able to:
- Climb up and down ladders
- Scan, handle, and move merchandise efficiently and safely, including lifting up to 44 pounds
- Work in varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements
- Remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shift
