We are seeking a Senior ADAS Test Engineer II to join our team at American Honda Motor Company in Raymond, Ohio. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in coordinating and executing a wide range of testing and development tasks essential for departmental and organizational goals.
The Senior ADAS Test Engineer II will collaborate closely with teams in Japan, international engineering teams, and external partners to ensure seamless alignment in developing ADAS software technologies. This position takes responsibility for specific ADAS technologies, overseeing development, validation, and testing within development projects, which involves both hands-on coordination and strategic oversight to ensure the successful integration of advanced driver-assistance systems, meeting high-quality standards and surpassing customer expectations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing Advanced Driver Assist Systems (ADAS) control software functions and tuning vehicle control systems
- Creating functional software requirements related to CAN interface, Self-Diagnostic, Failsafe Detection for each vehicle development
- Performing project management activities, overseeing testing, negotiating hardware and software interfaces, and analyzing test data
- Managing development projects/schedules, coordinating with corollary departments/suppliers, and researching new technologies and market trends
- Creating and presenting technical documents/reports, including comprehensive root cause analysis when required
The ideal candidate will have:
- A Bachelor's or equivalent academic degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or Controls Engineering
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in the industry
- Comprehensive understanding of vehicle dynamics, steering control functions, and experience with tuning vehicle control systems
- Experience with data acquisition systems and Vector CAN tools is a plus
- Excellent communication skills and the willingness to pro-actively seek out information from others
