Description
The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is seeking a Territorial Health Officer to lead the implementation of the IRC's health program in Ipiales, Colombia.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Providing technical, clinical, operational, and programmatic leadership for the IRC's health program in Ipiales
- Ensuring the direct provision of sexual and reproductive health services, as well as managing, monitoring, and evaluating the quality of these services
- Conducting community-based health promotion and disease prevention activities
- Providing counselling and support for family planning and reproductive health services
- Working with vulnerable populations, including children, pregnant women, and victims of conflict and migration
The role requires strong knowledge and sensitivity towards sexual and reproductive rights, maternal and child health, and clinical care for survivors of gender-based violence.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor daily tracking systems (Integra, Power BI)
- Ensure data quality and accuracy
- Coordinate procurement, inventory management, and distribution of medical supplies
- Supervise operational and administrative processes for medical supplies
- Resolve operational problems related to infrastructure and operations
- Analyze and report technical and budgetary indicators
- Produce detailed operational reports (achievements, challenges, proposals for improvement)
- Ensure integration with other IRC programs
- Participate in inter-institutional meetings
- Evaluate and continuously improve care processes
- Promote targeting strategies for vulnerable populations
- Identify needs for additional team training
- Accompany donor visits and control entities
- Ensure daily and comprehensive care for users at different program locations
- Ensure health services are provided according to technical, ethical, and quality standards established by the Ministry of Health and IRC
Requirements:
- Professional nursing qualification with a professional card and registration in Rethus
- Minimum 2 years of experience in attending pregnant women, preferably in clinical health settings
