Description
The SEL ICB Medicines Optimisation programme is responsible for £250 million medicines expenditure in primary care and leads an extensive programme of medicines and pharmacy transformation in SEL ICS. This role will lead delivery of the medicines optimisation function at Place and neighbourhood, working closely with the strategic commissioning multidisciplinary team, supported by the ICB Chief Pharmacist, Associate Chief Pharmacists, Consultant Pharmacists, and colleagues.
The Lead Pharmacist, Medicines Optimisation Delivery will focus on the delivery of strategies and actionable plans at Place, to deliver the best possible health outcomes for the SEL local population with a greater focus on prevention, personalised care and health inequalities, informed by clear intelligence and insights in relation to population and service provision, aligned to the NHS 10 Year Plan. They will lead the support for primary care and neighbourhood NHS models of care at Place in enhancing outcomes from medicines, including medicines value, safety, and overall quality improvement. The post holder will also work collaboratively across boroughs within the medicines optimisation delivery team to facilitate the efficient implementation of "do once and share" functions.
In 2025, the boards of NHS South East London ICB and NHS South West London ICB took the decision to enter into a clustering arrangement. This means that we share a chair, chief executive officer and an executive team, but we remain as separate, statutory organisations.
This is an exciting time to work within our ICBs. We currently have the opportunity both to shape the future of our clustered organisations, and to be part of a radical transformation of care for the local people and communities across south London.
