We are seeking a Specialty Sales Team Leader to join our team at Target. As a Specialty Sales Team Leader, you will be responsible for leading a team of hourly team members and providing exceptional guest experiences.
The starting pay range for this position per hour is $21.50 - $23.50. The full pay range for this position per hour is $21.50 - $36.55.
As a Specialty Sales Team Leader, your responsibilities will include:
- Consistently delivering guest experience commitments to create an Easy, Inspiring and Friendly guest experience
- Ensuring every team member understands, is trained, and consistently delivers on Target’s guest experience commitments and consistent operations
- Actively observing and providing feedback, holding team members accountable while recognising great guest experience moments
- Reviewing area guest, financial, and team outcome metrics to identify opportunities, taking action to improve, and aligning team on the right behaviours and execution
- Demonstrating a service culture that prioritises the guest service experience
- Modelling, training, and coaching team member expectations to deliver on our GUEST service model culture
- Demonstrating inclusivity by valuing diverse voices and approaches, being authentic and respectful, and creating equitable experiences
- Planning daily/weekly workload at the direction of your direct leader and executing the same to deliver on department and store sales goals and guest engagement
- Leading and demonstrating a culture of executing all best practices as outlined with team onboarding and learning
- Developing, coaching, and leading a team of consultants who are knowledgeable and passionate
- Assigning daily tasks to team members based on planned workload and guest traffic patterns
- Encouraging team to use tools available in their department to welcome, inspire, and influence guests
- Partnering with third-party vendors to ensure brand standards and merchandising are being met
- Supporting team execution of changes and updates to merchandise sets and visual presentations
- Creating inspiring visual moments by ensuring product is organised, signed correctly, and merchandised to support seasonal trends
- Supporting your direct leader in leading assigned department area backroom processes, organisation, layout, and replenishment of the sales floor
- Participating in team hiring and onboarding processes
- Leading your team in prioritising the guest experience
- Supporting your direct leader in establishing clear goals and expectations and holding team members accountable to expectations
- Demonstrating a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance
- Leading and demonstrating a safety culture through modelling and recognising safe behaviours
- Modelling the execution of physical security processes to enhance the in-store security culture
- Supporting merchandise protection strategies across the total store
- Occasionally assuming store-level leadership on duty responsibilities
- Addressing all store emergency and compliance needs
- Supporting guest services such as back-up cashier, order pick-up, and Drive-up

Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be at least 18 years of age or older
- Previous retail experience preferred, but not required
- Lead and hold others accountable
- Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners and other technology equipment
- Work independently and as part of a team
- Manage workload and prioritise tasks independently
- Welcoming and helpful attitude towards all guests and other team members
- Effective communication skills
- Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment
