Description
Working as a Target Security Specialist means helping create a safe and secure environment for guests and team members. You will be part of the Assets Protection team, which focuses on preventing and resolving theft and fraud, as well as responding to crisis events.
As a Target Security Specialist, your responsibilities will include:
- Providing a welcoming and helpful experience for guests
- Responding to security incidents and documenting them accurately
- Using de-escalation tactics to resolve conflicts
- Conducting merchandise theft recoveries and providing theft apprehension support
- Working with team members to maintain a safe and secure store environment
- Using Target's video surveillance system to monitor and respond to incidents
- Submitting documentation for incidents in a timely and accurate manner

- Enjoy interacting with and helping others
- Be able to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment
- Be flexible and able to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Have excellent communication skills and be able to work independently and as part of a team
- Be able to lift up to 40 pounds and work in varying temperatures and environments
In terms of qualifications, you will need:
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- To be at least 18 years old
- To meet any state or local licensure and/or other legal requirements related to the position
- Effective communication skills and the ability to operate handheld scanners and other technology equipment
