Description
We are seeking an Applied Researcher 4 to join our AI Foundations team at Capital One. As an Applied Researcher, you will partner with cross-functional teams to deliver AI-powered products that change how customers interact with their money.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with data scientists, software engineers, and product managers to develop AI-powered products
- Leverage technologies like Pytorch, AWS Ultraclusters, and Huggingface to analyze large datasets
- Build AI foundation models through design, training, evaluation, validation, and implementation
- Engage in high-impact applied research to advance AI developments
- Translate complex work into tangible business goals
- Collaborate with senior researchers to prepare technical reports and conference submissions
The Ideal Candidate:
- Has a PhD or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, AI, Mathematics, or related fields
- Experience building large deep learning models and expertise in areas like training optimization and explainability
- Strong understanding of AI methodologies and experience with open-source tools and cloud computing platforms
- Ability to own and pursue a research agenda and autonomously carry out long-running projects

- Cambridge, MA: $218,700 - $249,600 per year
- McLean, VA: $218,700 - $249,600 per year
- New York, NY: $238,600 - $272,300 per year
