The Mastercard Payment Networks team is looking for an Engineering Manager to lead high-performing teams building scalable and reliable backend systems.
As an Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for driving technical delivery, ensuring engineering excellence, and building strong teams delivering complex distributed systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Leadership & Execution: Drive architecture and design of scalable, high-performance backend systems. Guide teams building services using Java, Spring Boot, and REST APIs.
- Delivery Ownership & Execution: Own end-to-end delivery from planning through production deployment. Ensure strong engineering readiness.
- Operational Excellence: Ensure systems meet expectations for reliability, scalability, and performance.
- People Leadership & Team Development: Build, mentor, and retain high-performing engineering teams.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in software engineering with leadership experience
- Strong experience delivering distributed, large-scale backend systems
- Hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, and REST-based services
- Experience in microservices and event-driven architectures
- Strong understanding of data storage systems and data access patterns
