Description
We are seeking a Senior Underwriter to join our team in Köln, Germany.
As a Senior Underwriter, you will be responsible for evaluating complex risks in specialised insurance, particularly in personal insurance such as accident, health, life, and travel insurance.
Key responsibilities:
- Analyse and evaluate complex risks independently and precisely
- Develop, calculate, and adjust insurance contracts to meet specific customer needs
- Identify market trends and create market and competitive analyses to identify new business opportunities
- Collaborate with brokers to develop tailored insurance solutions
- Review and approve insurance contracts to ensure compliance with internal standards and regulatory requirements
- Support claims management, particularly in interpreting insurance conditions and assessing coverage obligations
- Create and maintain detailed risk reports and assessments
Requirements:
- Completed insurance-related training (e.g., insurance clerk, insurance and finance clerk)
- Preferably experience in risk assessment for specialised insurance, particularly in accident, health, and/or life insurance
- Strong analytical skills for evaluating complex and diverse risks
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Excel, Teams)
- Team-oriented and willing to learn
- Good knowledge of English
