Description
We are seeking a Cardiac Physiologist to join our team at Hendon Hospital in London. This is a bank role working on an 'as and when required' basis, supplementing staffing levels during busy periods and providing cover for existing staff in times of annual leave or absence.
The successful candidate will perform and interpret a wide range of non-invasive cardiac investigations, including resting ECGs, Holter monitoring, event recorders, and blood pressure monitoring. They will also carry out and report on exercise tolerance tests, tilt table testing, and other functional assessments.
Key responsibilities include:
- Performing and interpreting echocardiograms (transthoracic, transoesophageal, and stress echo, if appropriately trained)
- Assisting in cardiac catheterisation procedures, including angiograms, angioplasties, and right heart studies
- Monitoring and recording intra-cardiac pressures and waveforms during diagnostic and interventional procedures
- Providing technical support during pacemaker, ICD, and CRT implantations
- Conducting pacemaker, ICD, and CRT device checks and follow-ups in accordance with current guidelines
- Analysing device data and providing expert interpretation to guide clinical decisions
To be considered for this role, applicants should meet the following criteria:
- Current knowledge of a range of clinical specialties and developments in clinical practice
- Experience of customer care, including interacting with customers in challenging situations
- A degree in Clinical physiology or equivalent / ONC / BTEC in physiological measurement and medical physics
- Device or Echocardiography accreditation (BHRS/BHRE/BSE)
- Ability to independently undertake echocardiograms
