Description
We are seeking a Consultant Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist to join our City & Hackney Specialist Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service. The successful candidate will provide Consultant input and clinical leadership to the Emotional and Behavioral Pathway four days per week and Paediatric Liaison Team one day per week.
The role of the Consultant is to provide psychiatric assessment and treatment, contribute a psychiatric perspective, provide senior clinical leadership to the multidisciplinary team, offer consultation to other professionals and agencies, and facilitate the development of the team and wider service.
The post-holder will work 10 programmed activities over 5 days, with 7.5 devoted to direct clinical care and 2.5 to supporting professional activities. The timetable is indicative only, and a formal job plan will be agreed between the post holder and associate medical director or clinical manager three months after commencing the post and at least annually thereafter.
Applications will be welcomed from candidates included in or eligible for the Specialist Register or within six months of obtaining the CCT in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.

Person Specification:
- Full GMC registration
- MRCPsych parts 1&2 or equivalent
- Possesses an extensive range of clinical knowledge and excellent clinical skills
- Displays sound professional judgement
- Experience of teaching in small groups and lecturing
- Commitment to both undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, academic and clinical
