Description
We are seeking a Healthcare Assistant to join our team at The Saxon Clinic in Milton Keynes. This is a bank role working on an 'as and when required' basis, supporting staffing levels during busy periods and providing cover for existing staff.
The successful candidate will assist patients with personal hygiene, washing, dressing, toileting, oral care, and mobility needs. They will also help patients with eating, drinking, and nutritional support, and provide comfort and emotional support to patients and relatives.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting patients with personal care and hygiene
- Supporting patients with eating, drinking, and nutrition
- Providing emotional support to patients and relatives
- Carrying out routine observations such as blood pressure and pulse
- Supporting basic clinical procedures
- Preparing and maintaining clinical areas
- Working collaboratively with nurses, doctors, and other healthcare professionals
To be considered for this role, applicants should have:
- Previous experience in a care or health support role
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to follow instructions and escalate concerns
- Basic literacy, numeracy, and IT skills
- Physical ability to undertake moving and handling tasks
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent) desirable
- Knowledge of safeguarding, infection control, and confidentiality procedures
