Description
We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team in Calgary, Alberta. As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will be at the forefront of designing and delivering electrical systems that power critical infrastructure for communities.
You will lead projects, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver solutions that matter. You will be a primary team member focused on growing the team in a new market.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing and delivering electrical systems for water and wastewater facilities
- Leading projects and mentoring junior engineers
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
- Preparing proposals, technical memoranda, design reports, and detailed electrical specifications
- Engaging in dynamic project collaboration and meetings with design team, clients, consultants, and contractors
- Collaborating with local utilities and other key players
- Working closely with equipment manufacturers and suppliers
- Conducting site surveys and gathering critical field data
- Managing budgets, schedules, and unexpected twists
- Reviewing design documents for compliance with engineering standards, codes, and best practices
- Facilitating seamless collaboration between design and construction teams
- Sharing expertise with junior staff
- Participating in business development, including preparation of proposals
Requirements:
- 10+ years of electrical consulting design experience in the industrial sector, preferably in water and wastewater
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering; P.Eng designation in BC or Alberta
- Expertise in low- and medium-voltage systems
- Proficiency in ETAP, SKM, or EasyPower for power system studies
- Knowledge of industrial automation and communication protocols
- Familiarity with relevant codes and standards
- Valid driver's licence with a clean abstract
