Senior Mental Health Nurse

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Mental Health Nurse to join our Primary Care and Mental Health team at HMP Belmarsh, a category A prison located in South East London.

As a Senior Mental Health Nurse, your responsibilities will vary. You will work within a multi-disciplinary team carrying out comprehensive assessments, initiating and reviewing care plans, and developing treatment options for patients with complex physical and mental health issues.

Your main duties will include:

• Working with individuals providing advice, support, and information, and managing a case load of patients
• Undertaking medication rounds, and assessing and treating patients who may have undergone traumatic experiences and may be distressed
• Assessing patients' health needs using an evidence-based framework and being able to risk assess using sound clinical knowledge
• Monitoring therapeutic responses to medication and potential side effects, liaising with prescribers as required
• Delivering non-judgemental care that makes a real difference

The salary for this position is £46,478 to £55,086 per annum.

To be considered for this role, you will need to have:

• Qualified Mental Health Nurse - NMC registration
• Evidence of Continued Professional Development
• Experience of working with patients, face-to-face, who have complex mental health conditions
• Experience of psychosocial interventions, group work, and awareness of substance misuse
