We are seeking a full-time Polish Interpreter & Translator to join our team at Millennium Translations Ltd in Manchester.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing interpretation and translation services in various settings, including mental health, healthcare, and legal sectors.
Main Requirements
- Possess a full UK driver's license and access to their own vehicle.
- Provide a current, valid Enhanced CRB clearance.
- Have references to verify interpreting and translation experience.
- Be fluent in English and culturally competent and fluent in Polish.
Role of an Interpreter & Translator The role involves consecutive interpretation and translation of documents across various industries, ensuring accurate conveyance of the original meaning.
Interpretation Responsibilities
- Interpret in native language (Polish) in settings such as mental health, hospitals, police, courts, and schools.
- Interpret verbal communications in real-time with attention to context, meaning, tone, and technical wording.
- Consult reference works to stay updated with terminology and acquire specialist knowledge when needed.
- Attend booked assignments, drive to and from assignments, and adhere to high standards of professional behavior and confidentiality.
Requirements
- Qualifications in interpreting, translation, or linguistics (MA, BA, DPSI, Community Interpreting Certificate).
- Minimum of one year's professional experience and 200 hours of previous interpreting experience, preferably within the public sector.
- Two references for previous completed projects related to professional translation specialism.
