Description
IOM invites applications for a Senior Engineer Consultant to work on the Solidarity Fund project in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The Senior Engineer Consultant will serve as the project's lead technical focal point for the planning, design, procurement, implementation, and close-out of construction and infrastructure interventions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading technical assessments and feasibility reviews of proposed infrastructure interventions
- Preparing, reviewing, and consolidating engineering documentation
- Reviewing and validating technical deliverables prepared by consultants, designers, and specialist engineers
- Providing senior technical support to procurement and tendering
- Overseeing construction and rehabilitation works through regular site inspections
- Establishing and monitoring quality-assurance and quality-control arrangements
- Reviewing contractor progress submissions, measurements, and supporting technical records
- Assessing proposed design changes, substitutions, additional works, and variations
- Coordinating technical engagement with authorities and utilities
The ideal candidate will have:
- A university degree in Civil Engineering or Architecture
- Five years of relevant professional experience
- Demonstrated experience leading or coordinating infrastructure design, procurement support, construction supervision, and contract administration
- Knowledge of BiH regulations within the construction sector
- Fluency in English and one of the official languages in Bosnia and Herzegovina (Bosnian/Croatian/Serbian)
