ACCEL Schools is seeking a passionate and highly qualified Part-Time Library Media Specialist to join the team at Barber Preparatory Academy, in Highland Park, Michigan.
As a Library Media Specialist, you will be at the heart of our learning community,cultivating a love of reading, supporting academic success, and integrating technology and library resources into the curriculum.
Responsibilities
- Organize, catalog, and maintain all library materials and resources
- Collaborate with teachers to integrate library skills into the curriculum
- Foster a welcoming, positive learning environment for all students
- Implement school-wide culture expectations and norms
- Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress
- Incorporate technology to enhance learning and research skills
- Participate in school activities, events, and non-instructional programs as needed
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues and school leadership
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Library Science or a related field
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Experience working in diverse, urban school settings preferred
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism
- Ability to supervise and support students across grade levels
- Must pass federal and state background checks
