Description

Anduril Industries is seeking a Senior Electro-Mechanical Engineer to join their team at their Costa Mesa HQ.

The role involves early-stage R&D development for complex systems, including mechanical structures, batteries, mechanisms, actuators, motors, power systems, PCBAs, sensors, and payloads.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute rapid evaluation of engineering concepts in various fields
  • Identify partners in industry to engage with and manage early vendor relationships
  • Perform trade studies and physics-based analysis of blue-sky engineering problems
  • Manage internal and external market research and comparisons
  • Design, implement, and test complex electro-mechanical systems
  • Lead design reviews, run analysis, visit vendors, define and execute hardware test plans
  • Build and test prototypes, analyze failures, and transition successful projects towards production
  • Support critical hardware demonstrations with customers and internal leaders
  • Travel to test sites, vendors, and demos as needed
  • Use first principles physics as a basis for every decision

Requirements:

  • Experience in an immersive technical project
  • Demonstrated leadership, ownership, and autonomy skills
  • 8+ years of mechanical and/or electrical design experience in a professional setting
  • CAD skills and ability to make high-quality engineering drawings
  • Experience in PCB design and ECAD
  • High competence with engineering first principles
  • Strong organizational skills
  • BS, MS or PhD in an engineering field, or equivalent work experience
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. TS clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with NX and Teamcenter PLM
  • Advanced design skills for machining, composites, sheet metal, injection molding
  • Hands-on prototyping
  • Practical experience with electrical engineering tools
  • Experience with power systems, battery management systems, PCBA design, wiring harness design, controls, robotics, and motor/servo drive systems
  • Familiarity with microcontroller design
  • Firmware/software experience
  • Experience in developing electronics hardware products
  • Experience with microcontroller wired communication protocols

The salary range for this role is $146,000-$194,000 USD per year. Highly competitive equity grants are included in the majority of full-time offers, and Anduril offers top-tier benefits for full-time employees.
