We are seeking a Multidisciplinary Project Manager to lead strategic mandates for major mining producers in Canada. As a leader in the mining industry, you will be responsible for managing multidisciplinary project teams to deliver safe and tailored solutions. Your expertise will span from conceptual studies to feasibility, commissioning, and maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Take overall responsibility for multidisciplinary engineering projects in the mining sector, from initiation to closure
- Develop execution strategies, work plans, and project schedules
- Coordinate technical and administrative aspects of multidisciplinary project teams
- Define project objectives, priorities, deliverables, and required resources
- Manage budgets, timelines, risks, and changes throughout the project lifecycle
- Ensure compliance with contractual requirements, quality standards, health and safety regulations, and client objectives
- Monitor project progress and produce reports for clients and management
- Organize and facilitate kick-off meetings, coordination meetings, and design reviews
- Collaborate closely with discipline leaders to ensure effective integration of project components
- Proactively identify technical, organizational, or operational issues that may impact schedules or costs and implement mitigation measures
- Manage communications with clients, partners, suppliers, and other stakeholders
- Participate in preparing service offers, cost estimates, technical proposals, and presentations for clients
- Contribute to business development by maintaining relationships with existing clients and identifying new opportunities
- Support teams during procurement, construction, and commissioning phases as needed
- Act as an ambassador for best practices in project management and multidisciplinary collaboration within the organization
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline or equivalent
- 8-15 years of experience in engineering project management, with significant experience in the mining industry
- Proven experience in coordinating multidisciplinary teams on large-scale industrial projects
- Excellent understanding of project phases: studies, engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning
- Strong planning, financial management, and project control skills
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and client relationship management skills
- Mobilizing leadership and ability to positively influence multidisciplinary teams
- Rigour, autonomy, organizational sense, and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Fluency in French and ability to communicate in English in a professional context
Preferred Qualifications
- PMP certification or equivalent project management training
- Experience with major mining clients
- Experience in executing maintenance of operations (MOC) projects, plant expansions, site electrification, mining infrastructure, or industrial processes
- Knowledge of EPCM, IAGC, or Design-Build delivery methods
- Experience in managing project portfolios or supervising junior project managers
