Description

Job Overview

As a Financial Accountant, you will be the backbone of our financial reporting, taking full responsibility for the trial balance, complex reconciliations, and monthly closing cycles. You will be a hands-on expert who ensures the integrity of our financial data, provides accurate accounting records, and guarantees compliance with all relevant accounting standards.

Daily Tasks

  • Manage and oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes to ensure timely and accurate completion.
  • Prepare and post complex general ledger entries, including subjective allocations, accrued revenues, prepayments, and intercompany transactions.
  • Conduct and review critical account reconciliations and independently investigate and resolve discrepancies.
  • Administer intercompany accounting, including transfer pricing adjustments, loan agreements, and multi-currency reconciliations.
  • Support the preparation of consolidated financial statements and regulatory reports according to local accounting standards (HGB) and IFRS.
  • Continuously evaluate and optimise general ledger processes, charts of accounts, and financial systems to increase efficiency and automation of manual tasks.
  • Ensure strict adherence to internal controls, SOX compliance, and financial policies across the organisation.

Requirements

  • Qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, or equivalent) with at least 5-7 years of professional experience after qualification, and proven track record in a complex, multi-entity general ledger environment.
  • Exceptionally organised, hands-on expert who can manage the entire accounting process independently with minimal supervision.
  • In-depth understanding of accounting principles (HGB and IFRS) and statutory reporting requirements.
  • Extensive experience with enterprise-wide ERP systems (e.g., SAP, NetSuite, Workday) and advanced financial modelling in Excel.
  • Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accurate and complete accounting records.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritise tasks under pressure during tight deadlines.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with ERP migrations, system upgrades, or implementation of specialised modules (e.g., asset management, inventory tracking, or automated reconciliation tools).
  • Familiarity with RPA tools (Robotic Process Automation) or basic scripting languages (like VBA or Python) for automating repetitive tasks.
  • Experience in a multi-entity and multi-currency environment, and knowledge of foreign exchange accounting and intercompany transactions.
  • Proven success in identifying inefficiencies in financial processes and implementing improvement initiatives.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary and VSOP options.
  • Relocation support: up to €2,500 and 4 weeks temporary accommodation.
  • Professional development: annual allowance of €500.
  • Health and wellbeing: gym membership and mental health support (Nilo.health).
  • Social benefits: regular company events and monthly social allowances.
  • Extended parental leave: 22 weeks fully paid for primary caregivers and 6 weeks for secondary caregivers.
  • Family support: 5 days paid family emergency leave, 100% remote work during pregnancy, and phased return to work.
