Description
We are seeking an On-Call Meals on Wheels Driver to deliver hot ready-to-eat meals to homebound seniors and local senior centers in the MAG service area, specifically in Summit County.
The hourly wage for this position is $23.72/hour.
Work hours are generally 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, but flexibility is required as this position is for back-up coverage. Weekly hours can vary between 0 and 25.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver hot meals to senior centers, volunteer drop sites, and individual residences on a predetermined route
- Load delivery vehicle with hot meals and other items
- Maintain records and make reports related to job responsibilities
- Work cooperatively with the meal delivery team and Meals on Wheels office staff
- Keep assigned vehicles clean and orderly, and report required preventative maintenance needs
- Operate vehicles in a defensive and safe manner, abiding by all state, county, and local traffic laws
Requirements:
- High School Graduation or equivalent
- One year of work experience demonstrating job-related skills
- Must have, or be able to obtain, Utah County Food Handlers Permit
- Ability to drive a Ford F150 truck with limited visibility
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience working with senior clientele
- Possess knowledge and ability in locating residential and commercial addresses
- Ability to walk distances between delivery vehicle and drop-off locations
- Able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 lbs
