Description
WSP is seeking a Consultant - GIS (French) to assist with data management and mapping activities related to contaminated lands, environmental planning, ecology, and environmental impact assessment projects.
The successful candidate will have practical experience with GIS and a strong interest in GIS technologies. Responsibilities include producing cartographic report figures, tabular data summaries, and editing, maintaining, and managing spatial datasets in both web and desktop environments.
Key responsibilities:
- Plot, edit, and analyze spatial components of various projects using ArcGIS Pro and other components of the ArcGIS Suite
- Prepare maps, drawings, figures, sketches, charts, and presentation posters for use in proposals and reports
- Participate in 2D and 3D GIS data analysis, file management, database management, spatial data capture, georeferencing, structuring, and integration into GIS data themes
- Convert GIS data between multiple file formats
- Report to and review project work with senior GIS personnel
- Work collaboratively with staff from other WSP offices as required
The ideal candidate will have:
- A degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline (GIS)
- More than 5 years of experience in GIS
- Proven track record in GIS
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and French
- Ability to work independently with minimal oversight
