Description
We are seeking a Software Engineering Chapter Lead to oversee a group of software developers, providing technical guidance and leadership.
As part of Deutsche Bank Technology's global team, you will be based in Berlin, which is the latest addition to our network of technology centres.
The successful candidate will have a strong technical background and proven leadership experience, with excellent communication skills in both German and English.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical and disciplinary leadership to a chapter of software engineers, fostering their professional growth.
- Offer technical guidance and advice on architecture, design, and implementation of software applications using Java, Elasticsearch, Kubernetes, and cloud technologies.
- Communicate technical concepts, implementation status, and risks effectively to stakeholders at all levels.
- Promote best practices in software engineering, including code quality, automated testing, CI/CD, and application lifecycle management.
- Conduct regular employee appraisals, including performance assessments and goal-setting discussions.
- Utilise AI tools to enhance productivity, optimise processes, and solve business problems, making informed decisions and ensuring responsible handling of data and AI results.
Requirements and Experience:
- Proven experience in a similar leadership position.
- Strong experience in leading employees, including coaching, mentoring, and performance management of software engineers.
- Excellent practical knowledge of Java, Hibernate, Spring, Kafka, Elasticsearch, Spring Boot, and BPMN engines.
- Fluent communication skills in both German and English.
- Proactive, communicative, and solution-oriented personality with a passion for technology and people.
