Staff Pharmacist

CVS Health is seeking a Staff Pharmacist to join their team in Temple, TX. As a Staff Pharmacist, you will play a critical role at the forefront of delivering the company's purpose, modeling its values, and demonstrating genuine, authentic care for patients.

The Staff Pharmacist's responsibilities include:

• Managing and improving patient health through safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices
• Overseeing the pharmacy as a proxy for the Pharmacy Manager during bench shifts
• Assuming the Pharmacy Manager's day-to-day duties when serving as the only or primary pharmacist-on-duty
• Supporting safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by following and directing the pharmacy team to follow pharmacy workflow procedures
• Contributing to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care, and coaching the pharmacy team to do the same
• Proactively offering and delivering immunizations to keep patients healthy
• Supporting the effective management of pharmacy inventory
• Partnering with the Pharmacy Manager to ensure pharmacy operations are compliant with state Board of Pharmacy regulations
• Remaining flexible for both scheduling and business needs
• Maintaining relevant clinical and technical skills for the job
• Supporting access to care and helping to improve patient outcomes through pharmacist-delivered clinical care

The ideal candidate will have:

• An active Pharmacist License in the state where the store is located
• An active National Provider Identifier (NPI)
• Not be on the DEA Excluded Parties list

In terms of essential functions, the Staff Pharmacist should be able to:

• Regularly attend work, including nights and weekends
• Complete required training within the designated timeframe
• Concentrate on tasks over a period of time
• Pivot quickly from one task to another to meet patient and business needs
• Confirm prescription information and label accuracy to ensure patient safety
• Actively look for ways to help people in a friendly manner
• Notice and understand patients' reactions and respond appropriately
• Use and understand verbal and written communication to interact with patients and colleagues
• Utilize active listening and give full attention to what others are saying
• Use math to solve problems, such as determining the total number of tablets to dispense
• Identify challenging patient or colleague interactions and choose the best course of action
• Be mobile and remain upright for extended periods
• Lift, scan, and bag items
• Reach overhead and stretch or reach out with the body, arms, and/or legs to grasp items

The pay range for this role is $60.00 - $76.00 per hour. This position is eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, paid time off, retirement savings options, and wellness programs.
