Description
We are seeking a Healthcare Assistant to join our team at Woodlands Hospital in Darlington. This is a bank role working on an 'as and when required' basis, supporting staffing levels during busy periods and providing cover for existing staff.
The successful candidate will assist patients with personal hygiene, washing, dressing, toileting, oral care, and mobility needs, respecting their preferences and dignity. They will also help patients with eating, drinking, and nutritional support, including documenting intake where appropriate.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing comfort and emotional support to patients and relatives
- Carrying out routine observations such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature
- Supporting basic clinical procedures, including wound care setup and mobility aids
- Preparing and maintaining clinical areas, including trolleys, beds, and equipment
- Working collaboratively with nurses, doctors, therapists, and admin teams
Applicants should have previous experience in a care or health support role, good communication and interpersonal skills, and a caring, compassionate attitude. Desirable qualifications include NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care.
Circle Health Group offers a competitive hourly rate of up to £13.50 per hour, depending on level of experience, training, and qualification.
