Description

We'd all like amazing work to do, and real work-life balance. That's waiting for you at Sainsbury's. Here, everything in our stores starts in Sainsbury's Commercial. From product, proposition, packaging and price, to whether it meets our sustainability commitments or simply tastes great, our team is responsible for all food, non-food and clothing items available in Sainsbury's stores, online and on demand.

As our Community Executive, you'll play an important role in bringing our purpose to life through community programmes and partnerships that help more families access good food and support our ambition that no child goes hungry.

Responsibilities

Working within the Community and Partnerships team, you'll support the delivery of our community strategy and Plan for Better priorities, managing projects from concept through to execution and evaluation.

  • Build strong relationships with charity and community partners, ensuring programmes remain on track and deliver positive outcomes.
  • Coordinate campaigns and activities across our stores and wider business, bringing together colleagues from multiple teams to deliver brilliant experiences for customers, colleagues and communities.
  • Measure and communicate impact using data, feedback and case studies to evaluate programme success, identify opportunities for improvement and help tell compelling stories about the difference we're making together.
  • Support the management of community budgets, donations and operational processes, ensuring activity is well-organised, efficient and delivered to a high standard.

Requirements

  • Experience delivering projects, programmes or campaigns from planning through to implementation, review and reporting.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience influencing and managing stakeholders up to a senior level and the ability to build productive relationships across internal teams and external partners.
  • Previous experience working within a retail environment, with an understanding of how stores and support centre teams operate and the ability to deliver initiatives that work in practice across a large, multi-site business.
  • Demonstrable experience working within the charity, community or social impact sector, or in a role where community partnerships formed a significant part of your responsibilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to present insights, impact and recommendations clearly to different audiences.
  • Strong analytical capability, with experience using data and performance measures to evaluate success, identify opportunities and support decision-making.
  • Highly organised and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining strong attention to detail.

Benefits

  • Colleague discount: save 10% on shopping online and in-store at Sainsbury's, Argos, TU and Habitat.
  • Pensions scheme and life cover.
  • Performance-related bonus of up to 10% of salary.
  • Annual holiday allowance and ability to buy up to an additional week's holiday.
  • Season ticket loans, cycle to work scheme, health cash plans, salary advance and access to a range of discounts from hundreds of other retailers.
