Description
We are seeking a Locum Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team at Kingston Hospital. The successful candidate will provide medical leadership to the Kingston Hospital Liaison Psychiatry Team and work closely with the Team Manager to ensure a safe, efficient, and effective service.
The post-holder will provide section 12 cover for the acute hospital between 9am and 5pm in the general hospital. They will also lead on providing S.12 cover for the ED and AAU working-age patient presentations.
The ideal candidate will have a primary medical degree, full GMC registration, and inclusion on the GMC Specialist Register or eligible for such inclusion within three months of completing their CCT. They will also have section 12 (2) approval of the Mental Health Act.

Job Responsibilities:
- Provide medical leadership to the Kingston Hospital Liaison Psychiatry Team
- Work closely with the Team Manager to ensure a safe, efficient, and effective service
- Participate in systems of audit and clinical governance
- Provide section 12 cover for the acute hospital
- Lead on providing S.12 cover for the ED and AAU working-age patient presentations
Person Specification:
- Primary medical degree
- Full GMC registration
- Included on the GMC Specialist Register or eligible for such inclusion
- Section 12 (2) approval of the Mental Health Act
- MRCPsych or equivalent
- CCT in General Adult Psychiatry
- Qualification in a talking therapy such as CBT, DBT or MBT
- Qualifications in change management and service development skills
