Description
The IT Officer will be primarily responsible for assisting and facilitating the installation and configuration of IT infrastructure, staff training, and operations of IT activities in IRC Lebanon offices, including field offices.
Responsibilities:
- Provide Level 1 and Level 2 IT support to Lebanon IT team
- Guide and support Lebanon IT team to resolve Level 1 and level 2 issues
- Diagnose hardware and software faults
- Perform preventative maintenance on all IRC computers and network resources
- Provide technical assistance to support corporate applications
- Assist in evaluating and procuring new applications
- Operate within a shared services model to ensure consistency and cost-effectiveness
- Collaborate with other departments to align IT support with operational needs
- Support partners with IT assessments, capacity building, and policy development
- Perform preventative maintenance on all IRC computers and network resources
- Create, implement, and manage backup solutions
- Update network security and data loss prevention procedures
- Create and maintain IRC computer software/hardware inventory
- Investigate local Internet connectivity options
- Respond to helpdesk calls within agreed time limits
- Assess and implement connectivity solutions including VPNs and satellite options
- Ensure adequate bandwidth for intranet and application access
- Support field offices with tailored connectivity plans
- Develop and implement user and support staff training
- Test and evaluate new technology
- Prepare and submit reports
- Perform annual IT Audit for Lebanon
- Create and maintain IRC computer software/hardware inventory
- Maintain an updated IT Asset Registry
- Identify local supply chain for IRC IT requirements
- Provide technical supervision for IT staff in Lebanon office
- Coordinate and delegate IT tasks and activities between IT team members
- Plan and oversee technology investments, procurement activities, and budgeting for IRC software licensing
- Actively contribute to the evolution of the Country IT Strategy
- Proactively identify misalignments or inefficiencies across systems, processes, or projects
Requirements:
- Graduation or College degree
- Minimum of 3 years in relevant work experience as IT professional or IT support staff
- Excellent technical knowledge of PC hardware, including Microsoft platform
- MCITP course or equivalent experience in windows server environment
- ITIL V3 Certificate is a plus
- Experience installing, configuring, and managing both wired and wireless LAN
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
