Description
At Soho House, the Receiver handles and processes all food and beverage stock ordered for the house.
As the Receiver, you will oversee the cleanliness of storage areas, back landing, dry storage, wash area, walk-ins, chef storage, freight elevator, and garbage room.
Key responsibilities include:
- Receiving and verifying all perishable and non-perishable beverage and food orders
- Documenting the quantity received of produce, fruits, dry goods, liqueur, chemicals, and supplies
- Providing support to vendors and management during receiving
- Checking received merchandise for quality and quantity, rejecting unacceptable items
- Distributing merchandise according to food safety rules and storage orders
- Ensuring smooth First-In-First-Out (FIFO) operations in walk-ins and freezer
- Conducting inventory as advised and communicating results to management
- Completing daily checklists with the overnight porter
- Sanitizing bar storage areas
Requirements:
- 1+ year of relevant experience in a professional, efficient, high-quality service-oriented operation
- Ability to read and write English, read labels, and follow safety instructions
- Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
- Ability to work effectively under time constraints and deadlines
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to handle, grasp, turn, and hold objects with hands
- Must be able to work on your feet for at least 8 hours
- Fast-paced movements are required
- Ability to move, pull, carry, or lift at least 40 pounds
- Occasionally kneel, bend, crouch, and climb as required
