Description
The WSP Power and Energy (P&E) Power Delivery Substation Business Unit is seeking a Department Manager (DM) for the Substation Department in Columbus, OH. The DM will manage day-to-day activities, achieve department business plan goals, maintain high-quality standards, and support client needs.
Responsibilities:
- Act as trusted advisor to the Vice President, Region Manager (VPRM)
- Manage financial, technical, and staffing aspects of the department
- Apply high-level substation engineering techniques to identify improvements
- Develop construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates
- Oversee cross-functional teams of engineers and scientific professionals
- Prepare comprehensive technical reports and presentations
- Collaborate with other engineers, professionals, and leaders on proposal and business development opportunities
- Remain current in latest substation engineering techniques and practices
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related discipline
- 7-10+ years of relevant post-education experience in engineering discipline
- Demonstrable experience as a leader of project and/or client teams
- Proficient with electrical engineering principles, practices, and design software
- Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience as a people leader in a management capacity
- Professional Engineer License
- Demonstrated competence in working with other WSP departments
