Description
As a 2nd Line Engineer at Leidos, you will play a crucial role in Core services, conducting fault rectification of incidents and supporting Problem management, Continual Service Improvement (CSI), and Change Request (CR) work on operational essential IT Systems.
You will conduct reactive and proactive maintenance on all systems managed by Leidos, which are highly utilised with a large number of active users, operating at varying security levels. Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering assigned projects with minimal supervision, providing status updates, resolving issues, and updating all relevant parties/documentation.
- Managing and maintaining all servers, virtual machines to ensure high availability and performance, including the creation and deployment of new equipment.
- Updating certification of the network.
- Providing SME input on the development of process and procedures under CSI.
- Providing expert-level support to end-users, other resolver groups, and Service Desk Analysts in resolving complex issues and offering training on new systems or processes.
- Implementing security best practices and responding to security incidents to protect the infrastructure.
- Working closely with 3rd line and Apps team to troubleshoot complex issues and support core services.
Key duties will include:
- SD+ Ticket resolutions - Utilising technical expertise to ensure Incidents are dealt with in a timely manner.
- Maintenance - Responsible for completing and recording Periodic maintenance of the system.
- Patching - Utilising WSUS and SCCM to Patch all Domains.
- Documentation - Maintaining and creating documentation of system configuration changes.
- Resource Movement - Assisting in the configuration, installation, and deployment of infrastructure components.
- Participation in Projects - Engaging in infrastructure-related projects, CR's contributing to implementation build, testing phases.
- Problem Resolution - Working with other resolver groups, original manufacturers, Users, and suppliers to perform root cause analysis.
